  Are You Influenced By Looks?

  on friday night i watched a report by abc tv's john stossel (in the normal 20/20 time slot) that dealt with how humans are influenced by looks.

  it was a re-broadcast, and even though this was the second time i've seen it it was still fascinating.

  to demonstrate whether we are influenced by appearance, several scenarios were set up, involving people considered attractive and those considered more 'plain'.

  I'm guilty too.....good looks certainly attract me. That would definitely make my head turn or take a glance. Unfortuntately I've found that the majority of good looking guys out there are attached to a rotten egos, or boring personalities. I'd have to say that looks is what makes me take notice, but his personality would keep me coming around. Personality and a good head on his shoulders would be priority for me.

  I'm 5'1", but I tend to like taller men. I've dated men that have been 6'.....it didn't bother me if it didn't bother them. I wouldn't be attracted to a very short man, though....too much like a kid!

  I would also believe that I have friends in all shapes and sizes, but now that I think back, I think I have tended to buddie up with the better looking friends....odd isn't it?

  A day at the Park/Mommy not needed!, ,

  i took off work early today, picked up my little girl at 2pm and took her to the park.

  she is 15 months old now.

  walking and running; pointing and chattering.

  That was so sweet!!! It reminds me of my own when they were tiny. Doesn't it make all the worries wash away just to see them sqeal and laugh? I love it!! My son is now 10, and my daughter is 7....they don't need me anymore to have fun, I just join them now! I still treasue the moments when they got their fist taste of independence, like your little girl.

  Diamond, (by the way, I didn't realize there was a Diamond out on the board until AFTER I posted under my board name...sorry)

  Teenagers? Yikes! I'm not too sure I'm looking forward to that time....

  what did you miss in order to attend meetings?

  for me, it was the nfc championship game three years ago in order to attend the meeting, then, on top of that, the elders had *scheduled* a meeting for that day as well, to discuss the co visit.

  then there was a "supplemental" elder's school held a few years back that took me away from the afc title game.

  oh, i taped the stuff, but time-shift recording of sports just doesn't cut it.

  A scholarship to a local college. I chose not to go because I would miss Thursday meetings.

  what type of personality do you really have?

  do you have the same personality in person that you do on-line?

  some of us here seem to be rather private and others appear to be very good at communication.

  Minimus,

  I do think having been a JW has had a considerable impact on my personality. I don't trust people right off the bat, although I am friendly and personable. I like to watch them, especially to see how they treat others.

  I do think that being a JW also taught me some good qualaties, and least in a biblical sense. There was a lot of hypocrisy, but there were some very good people that had good intentions.

  I HATE rumors and gossip with a passion!!!!

  I stay away from people that poke their nose into other people's business. I have a "to each their own" attitude. I like to know that a friend can confide in me and find me trustworthy; I value that very much. Trust is the epitomy of a true friendship or any relationship.

  How Do You Unwind?

  lately, i've found listening to my "simpsons" cds while i'm driving home from work to be very helpful in de-stressing.

  they always make me laugh, and it's far less depressing than listening to the news on the radio while i'm driving.. i've also been known to have bubble baths by candle light with a good relaxing cd playing (i have one that's of thunderstorms which is one of my favorites).

  glass of wine optional.

  I go for a walk, visit fun-loving friends, go dancing, or drive myself to the beach when my kids are gone visiting their father.

  My illustration web site is finally done.

  with working on client's projects and playing on this board i finally squished in some time in to finish my site.

  it isn't anything fancy with animations and shockwave magic shooting all over the place like i have done in the past.

  it is simple, clean, and straight forward boring html.. the work is just a small portion of what i have done over the last year or so.
